Kim Fryar Honored with Jack Davis Professional Achievement Award

The University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences presented the Jack Davis Professional Achievement Awards during the December 2017 Human Environmental Sciences Homecoming Convocation.

Wonders & Worries’ Kim Fryar was recognized with the award.

Kim Fryar, of Austin Texas, serves as the program director and senior child life specialist for Wonders and Worries, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide professional support for children dealing with a parent’s illness.

Fryar earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science from the University of Alabama. She also holds a Master of Education from the University of North Texas. Fryar was honored for her outstanding professional achievement in the area of human development and family studies.

The award was established to honor Dr. Lewis Clifton, “Jack” Davis, a Tuscaloosa dentist and a pioneer in establishing the importance of nutrition in dentistry. Dr. Davis was also the first male graduate of the College of Human Environmental Sciences (CHES) nutrition program. The awards are presented annually to outstanding CHES alumni for their professional accomplishments.
