Project Warm Hugs Brings Blankets to Wonders & Worries
Posted on Dec 9, 2016
Nearly every child who comes through Wonders & Worries has an opportunity to choose a blanket to keep. They might use them during a group yoga session, while practicing deep breathing or blowing bubbles outside. It’s a comforting, tactile item that helps reduce anxiety.
Robyn Lawrence, a former Wonders & Worries client, developed a blanket donation program called Project Warm Hugs. Initiated for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, Robyn posted the instructions on how to make the blankets so that others can share their fleece creations.
My favorite tool that [Wonders & Worries] gave us to help deal with stress was my blanket. It was warm and soft and helped me remember that someone cares about me and my family, and that I shouldn’t be afraid.
Robyn’s project shows that anyone can give back!
