Family Fun Events

Family fun events connect Wonders & Worries families with others in similar circumstances and provide opportunities to connect with the Wonders & Worries team. We have four regularly scheduled Family Fun Events each year free of charge – our Hoping Hearts Party, the Ice Cream Social, Bat Kruise, and Festifall.

Thanks to the generosity of other community organizations, we are also happy to offer free tickets to various community events. We would like to thank Texas Oncology for its wonderful support of all of our Family Fun Events. The cost of our four annual Family Fun Events is also underwritten by individuals and corporations in our community. Volunteers and donors are invited to participate in sponsoring these important activities.

Ice Cream Social

The Ice Cream Social is held outdoors under the trees. Craft and game stations are set up outside along with a bounce house and, of course, ice cream! The activities are primarily designed for children ages 3 to 13 years but may also be enjoyed by older kids. The area is wheelchair accessible with chairs for relaxing while the kids play.

Bat Kruise

Bat Kruise

When: Late July or Early August at dusk

Where: Lady Bird Lake

The Bat Cruise is a favorite Wonders & Worries tradition. Families board Capitol Cruises’ large paddle wheel boat and cruise out on Lady Bird Lake to watch the bats fly out from under the Congress Avenue bridge. The lower level of the boat is wheelchair accessible.

Festifall

When: Late October from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Where: Wonders & Worries Westlake office (923 Westbank Drive, Suite C)

Festifall is a great way for our families to come together and celebrate a return to cooler weather! Festifall is held outdoors under the trees. Craft and game stations are set up outside along with a bounce house and a petting zoo. Children and adults can come dressed in costume if they choose, and everyone can go trick-or-treating at the end of the event. The area is wheelchair accessible with chairs for relaxing while the kids play.
