The Wills Family
Dr. Rob Wills and his wife, Danielle, first became aware of Wonders & Worries in 2006. One of their daughter’s friends received support from Wonder & Worries when her mother, one of Danielle’s best friends, was diagnosed with lung cancer. Soon, the Wills family was attending neighborhood meetings and fundraising events to support the organization, making donations both personally and through their business.
As a practicing physician and owner of Austin Pain Associates, Rob began referring clients to Wonders & Worries. Matt Mathias, a former board member whose wife was a cancer survivor and whose children received support from Wonders & Worries, invited Rob to join the board, and he gladly accepted.
Rob and Danielle prefer to support organizations where they believe they will have the biggest impact, and it is easy for them to feel passionate about Wonders & Worries. “I see very clearly that serving the emotional and mental health needs of these children, whose parents are facing a serious illness, is something that can have an immediate and profound positive impact,” Rob says. As a doctor, Rob is familiar with the scarce resources available to traditional healthcare providers, and he knows that the services provided by Wonders & Worries are otherwise hard to find.

When Wonders & Worries approached the Wills family to become the very first donors to the Millennium Society, a sustainable and multi-year funding initiative to support the general operations of the organization, Rob and Danielle enthusiastically agreed. “As owners of a business, it made so much sense to us,” says Rob. They did their homework, reviewing budget plans, income and expenses, and how Wonders & Worries truly stewards the resources they receive from various sources. “We felt 100% convinced that our donations were going to be used to support an amazing group of dedicated professionals, really committed to their cause and their mission, and to these kids who really need and deserve these services.”
